Why do I write this blog?
Because writers write.
Because without writing this blog, I would not be in the habits and routines of a writer.
Because I need to have a writing commitment that keeps me thinking of how to frame ideas.
Because writing my thoughts as a blog allows me to document my thinking and creative processes.
Because when I write posts and add tags and categories, it allows me to enter into a type of filing system that links ideas and connects my thinking.
Why do I procrastinate from writing regular blog posts?
Because I am a natural procrastinator.
Because I move into a creative space not by going straight to the centre, but by circling first.
Because thinking time is valuable, even though every nerve in my body tells me I am wasting time rather than being productive.
Because my creative soul knows to trust the process, and so procrastination is just the road to get to a final product. Sometimes the road is hard and long, and sometimes it’s boring. But still we have to travel along it to get to the destination.
Because… I don’t know why, I just do.
